The choir is made up of amateur (in the true sense of the word) singers from Formby, and around the Liverpool area. They sing primarily for the fun of it, but there are four concerts a year to provide a focus and purpose to rehearsals:
major choral works in the late autumn and spring, carols near Christmas, and a summer concert which varies in format and content.

Membership is open to anyone who is interested in singing “classical” music to a high standard.
Previous experience is not necessary, nor is it necessary to be an expert at reading music or sight-reading proficiently. However, there are many experienced and capable members, and rehearsals tend to move at a swift pace, with only a certain amount of “note bashing” in the early stages. There are websites available which offer midi files, etc to help learning the notes.

When you get in touch, either through another member, or by contacting the Membership Secretary HERE, you will be invited to come along to a few rehearsals to see how you feel. After three or so weeks, there is an informal audition. This is nothing to worry about - it’s really just a chance to allow David to hear your voice, and check you’re comfortable in the right voice part. You can sing anything you like - a song, hymn or even a carol of your choosing.
