Concerts

March 2022

Slight change of plan … we were going to sing the Missa Purificationis by Zelenka, which we did several years ago. But reality (cost!) meant shelving that for a while. It needs four soloists, and while our audiences are not back to strength, we are making substantial losses on concerts. We are still singing Puccini’s wonderful Messa di Gloria, but replacing the Zelenka with some of the Handel Coronation Anthems.

With Philip Clieve and Armand Rabot as soloists, the Puccini will sound like the operatic work which it really is!

NB – note that the concert is at St Peter’s Church … it’s been a while. In fact it was in 1997, for the church’s 250th Anniversary celebrations when we were last there. This year, they’re marking their 275th Anniversary, so it’s rather good to be going back!
